I am basically the lead guy of the Chechen wikipedia project. (Username: Girdi). It is rather hard work to keep it active as I am a full time student and with about 4 other projects so I tend to take 3 week breaks from time to time on each one of my projects. (Usually I take a break from the Chechen wiki when I meet a rude chechen or get booted from the PalTalk channel for trying to speak your language).

Anyway, back to the topic, the IRC channel (that I set up) has not been active cause of lack of users. I think you Samian should start writing on the Chechen wiki instead of spending time on English, they have enough articles. And anyone else to is welcome of course.

If you want to get involved with the Chechen wikipedia project and are not sure how to get started, just contact me (im very easy to be reached ). Whatever language you feel comfortable in I can help you get started and help you make your very own (and the world's ) first article and set you up with a userpage.

The Chechen Wikipedia has a long way to go, and I can't maintain it all on my own with my busy life, so any help, even someone making babel templates or stubs, it'll be great!

I was letting everyone know. What makes a Wikipedia thrive is the community it possesses. So, look at Esperanto and Volapük, two made up languages, yet they have close to 100.000 articles (Volapük I beleive made it past 100.000). Look at even my language, Icelandic. We have 300.000 speakers and yet we are much more active on all of our projects than Chechen wiki which has over a million speakers.

Though I beleive one disadvantage is that it is in the Cyrillic alphabet, and most chechens I have talked with prefer to write in romanised form of chechen. Regardless , if you speak Chechen but only in romanised, write a romanised article in Chechen and I can try to transliterate it into Cyrillic. ^^ that is the greatest thing of Wiki.

Also, we need some administrators too. There are 3 currently, but since I am really the only active person at the moment there leaves 1, me. Yeah, I write a lot in this, but I hope I am enlightening you all, becuase not to sound arrogant but I know the Chechen wikipedia in and out (I've done a lot of work to it), so maybe I am teaching you all about it.

If there is anything at all any of you need or want for getting involved and becoming an author on the Chechen wikipedia, please don't hesitate to send me a message. (If your english is not so well, you can use: Нохчийн, Русский, Dansk, Francais, Deutsch, Íslenska (duh), Italiano, العربی, Latina.. that should be enough).
