| 2009 EarthCorps Environmental Restoration Program Эта программа, как и все программы, рекомендуемые нами на www.chechnyaadvocacy.org/opportunities.htm оплачена и покрывает расходы (жилье, пропитание) участников. Многие из этих программ специально нацелены на привлечение кандидатов из национальных меньшинств и регионов, где идут конфликты или есть социальные проблемы, таких, как Северный Кавказ. И это дает Вам больше шансов. Комиссия, ведущая процесс отбора кандидатов не дискриминирует их на почве национальной принадлежности, пола или религии. Однако процесс отбора тщателен и квалифицированных кандидатов много, и нет гарантии, что Вас, как и любого другого кандидата, выберут или не выберут. Поэтому мы очень советуем Вам ознакомиться с указанными ниже программами; связаться с нами (can@chechnyaadvocacy.org ), если у Вас есть вопросы; подать заявление, если Вас интересует конкретная программа; или передать информацию о программах интересующимся сотрудникам, друзьям или родственникам. 2009 EarthCorps Environmental Restoration Program for participants aged 18-25 – spend six months in Seattle learning about, and participating in, environmental restoration! Application deadline: July 31, 2008 If you would like to apply, please read the program description below carefully before contacting us at can@chechnyaadvocacy.org! EarthCorps Environmental Restoration Program (http://www.earthcorps.org/international.php) brings together emerging environmental leader from around the world to participate in an environmental restoration program from February to August 2009. Participants are nominated by environmental groups (i.e. NGOs, student clubs, community groups, etc.) in their home region, and spend six months in Seattle , Washington , USA working on environmental restoration projects and cooperating in international teams. The skills the program teaches are not classroom techniques, but active work outdoors like planting trees, stopping erosion with bio-engineering structures and building trails in parks. EarthCorps takes care of all the basic needs of participants, including housing (with an American family), food and financial support as well as part of travel expenses to the US (we will help find additional funding for travel expenses for successful applicants from the North Caucasus ). Participants must speak English and have an interest in physical work outdoors and camping as well as open-mindedness to various cultures, since young people from all over the world will participate in the program. Candidates must: · Be nominated by an environmental organization they work or volunteer for; · Have a 4 year university diploma and 1 year of work experience in the environmental field; or 5 years of work experience in the environmental field without a university diploma; · Be between 18 and 25 years of age; · Speak some English (enough to have a conversation about their work and interests and to prepare the application); · Be committed to returning to their communities and continuing their work on the environment after the program These criteria help assure that applicants have a commitment to the environmental field and have the skills and knowledge to take on responsibilities and to become actively involved in challenging and rewarding projects. It also helps assure that the EarthCorps training is mutually beneficial for both trainees and their sponsoring organizations. Candidates must prepare the following application materials: · Resume/C.V. · Autobiography detailing the applicant’s related experiences working in the environmental field. · EarthCorps International Participant Application · EarthCorps Dental Form complete with signature and authorization stamp. · EarthCorps Medical Form complete with signature and authorization stamp. · Copy of the picture page of your passport and any US Embassy issued stamps and/or visas.
