Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is looking for an internationally experienced Livelihood and Self-Reliance (LSR) Project Manager with strong operational and project management skills.



DRC has been present in the North Caucasus region of the Russian Federation since 1998, responding to the needs of internally displaced people. Today, our main focus is on an integrated approach to promote and support return and reintegration of the displaced wherever possible, with specific activities in housing reconstruction, livelihoods support, recovery of communities, and strengthening of local NGOs, while phasing out relief assistance.



We currently operate with seven international staff and approximately 300 national staff in the North Caucasus . Projects are implemented primarily in the Chechen Republic where the main office is located. There are activities in the republics of Ingushetia, Dagestan, North Ossetia - Alania as well.

Satellite offices are maintained in Vladikavkaz, Nazran and Moscow .



PURPOSE OF THE POSITION



Under the direct supervision of the Head of Programme, the LSR Project Manager is responsible for managing the Livelihood and Self-Reliance Department and all its activities.



The LSR Department is responsible for planning, developing and implementing strategies, projects and activities in the field of economic recovery and development in support of sustainable livelihoods and community rehabilitation. This includes, but is not limited to, assistance in agriculture, small-scale business development, and NGO capacity and institutional capacity building. The Project Manger is responsible for managing these activities, with emphasis on area-based approaches as well as for individual household economies.
